Manica Magee is a book wonderfully written by Jerry Spinelli. You can find it in your local Library. Jeffrey was a kid whos parents died in a trolley accident; he was 3 at the time. He was orphaned for 8 years by his Aunt Dot and Uncle Dan. They always fought but they didn't divorce for they were strict catholics. Jeffrey Lionel Magee got sick of them and ran away. All the way to the East End where he find Amanda Beale hurrying to school with a suitcase of books for her siblings colored on anything they found. didn't want to leave the books alone. He was amazed and wanted a book. She mused out loud why he was in the East End of blacks. He didn't realize the whites and blacks stayed away from each other. Jeffery still wanted a book from her and said he would bring it back. She finally consented knowing he wouldn't let her get to School without it. She threw it at him and started running and this would be the first time she would be late for school. He wondered why she called herself black for all the people he saw here were chocolate colored, warm hazel, and dark brownie colors. No black.

After finishing the book he still read it many times and kept it a while. Always when he wandered he brought about a legend. One day he went to the football field where some guys were playing and someone who was the best football player thew it and not his buddy caught it but Jeffery did and he threw it all the way back. Farther then the best player himself ever threw. And later the guys talked about it saying he must have done all this with one hand for he was holding a book. He became known near and far and became known as a maniac. People only called him that except Amanda and her family who he started to live with. They cared for him and didn't care that he was white. He also unknotted the old Cobble's knot which was the biggest knot known.

Later he left the Beale's and made a family with Earl Grayson. He soon cared for Maniac as a son. He bought him everything. Especially his favorite, crimpets. Maniac was also known as the fastest runner. He even raced against bad Mars Bar Thompson. His enemy soon became his best friend besides Amanda and the others he has made. Even now some Jump Ropers still sing about him...

UPDATE TIME, YAY. My sister Katie's wedding was about 2 weeks ago and I was a proud bridesmaid. ;) On November 16th I will be getting my own YouTube account, FaceBook account, and contacts! I am doing Percussion! Starting with a Drum Pad, and two sets of sticks. My teacher's name is Jim and he is so awesome! I got side bangs recently and my sister said they look like layers... I made a Poem a while ago; here it is.

Something about the day made me want to say:
I'm glad I'm here for this lovely year.
And the sky was blue with a wonderful hue.

All the flowers yearned for showers.
But what came turned to cold rain.

The earth shook in every nook.
Lighting came down like a bunch of angry frowns.

People ran away on that unfateful day.
And that is what became of the place called Nakame.
